This house was designed for a lovely young family in The Raslouw Manor Estate not far from Centurion. The client brief was for a country style home with a modern twist. The living spaces were to be open and free - flowing with a strong indoor / outdoor relationship.
This design, with its dramatic curved spine wall, was eventually selected after and extensive consultation process and several design concepts. The house is set as far back in the site as possible to create a large north facing front yard accessed from the patio / lounge.
A private courtyard accessed from the kitchen is carved out on the east of the yard. We created a direct visual link between the kitchen, dining and lounge with a hidden visual link to the mezzanine study area. The outdoor lifestyle is complemented by a boma with a fire pit accessed directly from the patio braai area. Construction commenced in early 2016.
